Joe Henein is a senior Pharma executive with a career extending over 30 years in big Pharma, covering many geographies including; USA, Europe, and the Middle East. Formerly, Joe served as the Managing Director of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), VP Strategic Marketing and Global Commercial Chair for a number of therapeutic areas, most notably infectious diseases, and the Therapeutic Area Head for Women’s Health Care. He has also assumed a number of senior managerial roles in American Cyanamid and Merrill Dow and served in various corporate and industry committees; including PhRMA MEAC as the Vice Chair and the Chair for the PhRMA MEAC Ethics Review Board. Joe is a frequent speaker in pharmaceutical congresses including compliance forums. Joe holds a PharmD. Degree.
Vice President Human Resources and Legal
Vanessa Edmunds joined NewBridge Pharmaceuticals in May 2013. Vanessa is a UK qualified employment lawyer and has lived and worked in the Middle East for the last 15 years. In addition, Vanessa has over 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry having held senior regional HR leadership roles with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer and Baxter Healthcare handling all aspects of human resource management across multiple jurisdictions in the Middle East and Africa Region. Vanessa holds an LLB Degree.
Baher Massoud, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Baher Massoud joined NewBridge in October 2013. Formerly, Baher served as the Regional Head, Medical & Clinical Affairs at Pfizer MEA where he also chaired the Regional medical council, which included Medical Affairs, Drug safety, Medinfo, Clinical Research, Health Outcomes (HEOR), QA & Regulatory, and supervised the Regional therapeutic & Country Medical Affairs teams across Africa and Middle East countries. Baher served as a member of both Pfizer Regional Leadership team in Dubai as well as Global Medical Affairs leadership team in New York. Previously, he held the role of Area Medical Officer and CR&D Regional Director for Wyeth MENA, leading the Medical Affairs function as well as Wyeth’s CR&D operations in the region. Earlier, he worked with Eli Lilly in the region. Prior to this Baher was Associate Professor of Internal Medicine & Endocrinology at Ain-Shams University - Cairo, Egypt.
Khaled Tamim joined NewBridge Pharmaceuticals in March 2012. Khaled has over 20 years of experience in Pharmaceuticals and FMCG. Formerly he served as the Finance Director for the Gulf and Levant business for Abbott Laboratories, and before that assumed roles in Finance in Saudi Arabia with Pepsi, Siemens in Qatar, Transmed in Lebanon, and Unilever in Levant and Morocco. Khaled started his career as an auditor and earned his CPA in 1996.
Director Strategy and Commercial Operations
Rosie is a Chartered Accountant who joined NewBridge in July 2013. She has over 10 years’ experience in multi-nationals covering both Pharmaceuticals and FMCG in Africa, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand and most recently headed up the Gulf Finance division for PepsiCo International in Dubai. Rosie started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia as an auditor. Following this, Rosie assumed positions in Senior Commercial Finance with Wyeth Australia and Senior Finance Manager for Pfizer in Dubai for AFME region.
VP Regulatory Affairs & Logistics
Adel Djalal, joined NewBridge in February 2016. Before joining NewBridge, Adel assumed several roles and responsibilities, starting with the role of Regulatory Affairs Manager at Rhone Poulen Rore, France, then relocated from Paris to Dubai in September 2000 where he established the first Regulatory Affairs Department of Aventis Gulf and Saudi. After the acquisition of Aventis by Sanofi, Adel continued to lead the Regulatory Department of the new organization. In May 2006, he took over a new role as Director Supply Chain including the responsibility the first Sanofi Aventis distribution center established in the free zone of Jebel Ali end 2006. In March, 2009, he joined Amgen as Head of Regulatory, Safety and Compliance for the region of Middle East, Africa &Turkey, where he contributed in the setup of the Regulatory Affairs department, facilitating access of innovative products to patients and expansion of the footprint of Amgen in the region. Adel holds a PharmD Degree from the University Of Constantine in Algeria and Masters in Quality Assurance of Medicines from the University of Descartes (Paris V) – France.
Misan Abu Rmaileh
Head of Business Development
Misan Abu Rmaileh joined NewBridge in November 2010 and has 12 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. She started her career at Hikma Pharmaceuticals in Business Development and her last position was a Senior BD associate for the MENA. She then moved to Aspen Dubai as MENA Business Development Manager then joined NewBridge shortly afterwards. Misan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
Hisham El Sayed
Business Unit Director Immunology
Hisham has more than 16 years of Pharmaceutical experience. After 12 years with Wyeth & Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, where he held positions in both the Sales & Medical Departments and held the role of the Regional Medical ACT of Enbrel for the MEA Region with Pfizer, he moved and joined NewBridge in November 2012.
His roles and responsibilities throughout his career have allowed him to work in various therapeutic areas such as Biologics, Vaccines, Anti-infective & Transplantation on both international and regional scopes. Hisham has worked in different capacities with a broad understanding of corporate cultures and leadership skills involving managing, developing and motivating teams.
Hisham holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University (1999). In his current role of Business Unit Director at NBP, he heads the Sales and Marketing of the Immunology team, and is responsible for achieving the defined P&L and financial metrics for the BU.
Senior Business Unit Director Neuroscience
Ahmed Saeed joined NewBridge as the Senior Business Unit Director for Neuroscience in January 2017. Ahmed has over 20 years’ experience in Pharmaceuticals in the Region, having worked previously in senior leadership roles in both commercial and marketing for in the Biologics, Immunology and RA therapeutic areas in the MENA region.
With a background in Veterinary Science, Ahmed has a proven track record of building high performing teams and achievement of business results and growth of market share. He started his career in commercial in Egypt, and later moved to the Gulf to work for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and during his tenure, held numerous senior marketing and commercial roles in the MENA region.
